Understanding the weekly monitoring summary email

Learn what the weekly monitoring summary email contains, who receives it, and how to use it to manage your firm's monitoring backlog.

Overview

Every Monday, Legl sends a weekly monitoring summary email to your firm's designated MLRO or Head of Compliance. This email provides a snapshot of your firm's monitoring activity and highlights any alerts that require attention.


Where you will see this

The weekly monitoring summary email is sent directly to the email address your firm has set as the MLRO or Head of Compliance contact. The subject line will read: Your monitoring backlog this week: [number] alerts require review.

This email is sent automatically every Monday. You do not need to enable or configure it.


What this means

The email gives your firm a clear picture of where things stand with ongoing monitoring. It is divided into three sections:

Last week at a glance

Shows how many alerts were received compared to how many were reviewed during the previous week. This is broken down by alert type and priority, so you can quickly see whether your firm is keeping pace with incoming alerts.

Your current monitoring position

Shows how many contacts your firm is currently monitoring, broken down by alert type. It also shows how many alerts are awaiting review, split by unassigned and assigned alerts.

Tools to help you stay on top of monitoring

Highlights the features and settings available in Legl to help your firm manage monitoring alerts more efficiently. This includes links to relevant tools within the platform.


What you need to do

Use the email to:

  • Check whether your firm reviewed all alerts from the previous week

  • Identify any backlog of unreviewed alerts that need attention

  • Click through to the Monitoring dashboard in Legl to review outstanding alerts

If your firm has a large number of unassigned alerts, consider using the bulk assign feature in the Monitoring dashboard to distribute alerts across your team.


What happens next

The email is sent every Monday, so you will receive an updated summary each week. Alerts referenced in the email remain in the Monitoring dashboard until they are reviewed by a firm user.


Important information

  • The weekly email is sent to Risk customers only

  • The email is sent to your firm's designated MLRO or Head of Compliance email address. If this needs to be changed, contact our Support team

  • The email reflects your firm's monitoring position at the time it is sent. Alerts reviewed after the email is sent will be reflected in the following week's summary

  • If your firm needs to disable monitoring for multiple contacts, use the Request bulk monitoring update link included in the email to contact the Support team
