Overview
Ongoing monitoring for business clients allows you to monitor changes to your business clients for the duration of your business relationship. It helps firms stay compliant with AML regulations by automatically identifying relevant changes and alerts that require review.
This feature is typically used by law firm users responsible for business client onboarding and ongoing compliance.
What you can use ongoing monitoring for business clients for
Ongoing monitoring supports ongoing AML and KYB obligations by helping you:
Monitor changes to business client information over time
Identify sanctions-related updates affecting a business
Stay informed of credit, financial, or legal changes relevant to risk assessment
Centralise monitoring alerts and reviews in one place
Maintain an auditable record of monitoring activity and reviews
How ongoing monitoring for business clients works
Once enabled, Legl automatically monitors business clients for relevant changes. Monitoring is split into two categories:
Company information monitoring, which tracks updates such as company details, structure and ownership, financial changes, and legal proceedings
Sanctions monitoring, which checks for changes to a business’s sanctions status on a daily basis
When a change is identified, a monitoring update is generated and appears in the Monitoring dashboard as ready for review. Reviews are completed by a firm user and recorded in the audit trail.

Important information
Important:
Ongoing monitoring is automatically enabled for new businesses once the first company report or sanctions screening is created.
Enabling monitoring for an existing business creates a new report to ensure no changes were missed while monitoring was off.
Monitoring alerts must be reviewed by the firm; Legl does not make compliance decisions on your behalf.
