Overview

Monitoring updates can be reviewed by any user in Legl or assigned to another reviewer when escalation or reassignment is required.

Assigning reviewers helps ensure monitoring alerts are reviewed promptly by the most appropriate person and recorded correctly in the audit trail. This enables the firm to act quickly on any changes in client risk.

Before you start

Before assigning or managing reviewers, ensure that:

  • You have access to the Monitoring dashboard in Legl

  • Monitoring updates are available and marked as Ready for review

  • The user you want to assign is an active user in your firm

ℹ️ Further guidance

It is possible to auto-assign ongoing monitoring alerts. For more information, see the following guide:

How to assign a reviewer to a monitoring update

  1. Go to the Monitoring page in the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Select a monitoring update marked as Ready for review.

  3. Open the update to view the monitoring details.

  4. Select Assign reviewer.

  5. Choose a user from the list.

  6. (Optional) Add a comment for the reviewer.

  7. Assign reviewer.

The assigned reviewer will receive an email notification with a link to view the update and any comments included.

When assigning a reviewer for the first time, the update summary may show the name of the user who originally onboarded the client to help identify an appropriate reviewer.

How to review an update without assigning a reviewer

Assigning a reviewer is optional.

  • If you choose not to assign a reviewer, you can review the update yourself.

  • Your name will appear as the reviewer in the audit trail once the review is completed.

How to bulk assign several monitoring updates to a reviewer

  1. Go to the Monitoring dashboard.

  2. Select multiple monitoring updates using the checkboxes.

  3. Select Bulk actions at the top of the dashboard.

  4. Choose Assign reviewer.

  5. Select the user to assign the updates to.

  6. (Optional) Add a message for the assignee.

  7. Assign reviewer.

All selected updates will be reassigned to the chosen reviewer.

What happens next

After a reviewer is assigned:

  • The assignee receives an email notification with a direct link to the update

  • The assigned reviewer can open, review, and complete the monitoring update

  • Reviewer details and actions are recorded in the audit trail

Important information

Important:

  • You are not required to assign a reviewer to complete a monitoring update.

  • Assigning or reassigning a reviewer does not automatically mark the update as reviewed.

  • Monitoring updates must still be reviewed and submitted by a firm user.
