Managing Your Settings — On-Demand

An on-demand tour of Legl's self-service Settings area — General, Team & Departments, Monitoring, Risk Assessment, Pay, and Engage settings.

Written by Ula Moyse-White

Overview

This on-demand session gives you a tour of Legl's self-service Settings area, so you can manage your firm's configuration yourself rather than booking a call with your Launch Manager. Settings are admin-only, and changes apply firm-wide from the point you save them onward — work already in progress is not affected.

Who this is for

Firm Admins. Only users with Admin access can change these settings — if you are a User rather than an Admin, ask a Firm Admin at your organisation to make the change for you.

What this covers

  • General settings

  • Team & Departments

  • Monitoring

  • Risk Assessment settings

  • Pay settings

  • Engage settings

General settings

General settings are the shared layer that sits underneath every product. Branding lets you set your firm's primary colour, firm logo, and mobile logo, which appear on Engage and Pay Request links sent to clients. Contact details covers your firm's email, phone number, website, and multiple office addresses, which are shown to clients within those links. Client emails lets you rewrite the body copy of Payment Request and Engage Request emails, with a live preview as you edit.

Team & Departments

This is where you manage your firm's user list. Add and manage people, set their access level as Admin or User, and use granular edit permissions toggles to control exactly what a User can do (an Admin sees everything by default). Deactivate users who leave the firm so they lose access straight away. You can add users by email in bulk, separating addresses with commas or new lines to send multiple invites at once.

Monitoring

Monitoring settings configure how ongoing monitoring runs for your firm. Choose who receives the weekly monitoring summary, and set up auto-assignment so alerts route to the right reviewer automatically. Individual monitoring toggles control what gets screened, and should be set with your MLRO or compliance lead. Company monitoring settings work slightly differently: AML-relevant updates are always on and cannot be disabled, while three non-AML-relevant updates are optional.

Risk Assessment settings

Three options are configurable here. You can allow or disallow users from overriding a calculated risk rating — every override is logged with a rationale and timestamp, whichever way this is set. You can choose who gets notified when an assessment comes out high-risk, usually the MLRO. And you can set the default number of days before a reassessment is due, based on the client's risk level.

Pay settings

Pay settings let you allow or disallow Amex, payment plans, and international cards. You can set payment limits for portal and card payments, and a maximum phone payment amount — remember to click Save Limits for these to apply firm-wide. Payment reminder cadence defaults to 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30 days, and can be changed by clicking Save Reminders. You can also enable or disable sender alerts that fire when a payment email fails to deliver.

Engage settings

Engage is the biggest settings section. Chase cadence controls when chasers start and how many emails are sent to incomplete clients. Compliance notifications let you send all completed CDD results, or only those requiring EDD, to the MLRO. Targeted compliance signals flag checks that are run suspiciously close together, and can warn a fee earner when a colleague has already run a similar check on the same client recently, with a configurable day threshold. Email mechanics let you set BCC and CC behaviour to never or always. Finally, you can turn on notifications to the sender and reviewer when an Engage email fails to deliver.
