Written by Ula Moyse-White

Once Ongoing Monitoring is enabled for a client, it runs indefinitely. You can turn it off at any time, for example at the end of a business relationship.

Before you start

  • Ongoing Monitoring must already be enabled for the client.

  • You need access to Engage to turn off Ongoing Monitoring.

How to turn off Ongoing Monitoring

  1. Navigate to Contacts in the left-hand navigation and search for the client. [Screenshot needed]

  2. Open the client's contact record.

  3. Select View next to the Monitoring status.

  4. Toggle off the Ongoing Monitoring button.

What happens next

Ongoing Monitoring stops immediately for this client. The date and time monitoring was turned off is recorded against the contact record for audit purposes.

โ„น๏ธ Important

You can re-enable Ongoing Monitoring for a client at any time. Re-enabling requires a new Watchlist Screening check, which is charged.

Important information

  • You can turn off Ongoing Monitoring for multiple clients at once โ€” see How to bulk disable ongoing monitoring.

  • Turning off Ongoing Monitoring for a client does not delete their monitoring history. Previous alerts and reports remain accessible in Legl.
