How to enable Ongoing Monitoring for individual clients

Learn how to enable Ongoing Monitoring for individual clients, either automatically through a workflow or manually for existing clients.

Written by Ula Moyse-White

Use this article to enable Ongoing Monitoring for individual clients. Ongoing Monitoring can be enabled automatically as part of a client workflow, or manually for clients who are already in Legl.

Before you start

  • You need access to Engage to enable Ongoing Monitoring for clients.

  • The client must have a contact record in Legl before Ongoing Monitoring can be enabled.

How to enable Ongoing Monitoring automatically

When a client completes a Watchlist Screening check as part of a CDD workflow in Legl, Ongoing Monitoring is enabled for them automatically. You do not need to take any further action.

This applies to any Legl CDD workflow that includes a Watchlist Screening check. For a full list of available checks and which ones include Watchlist Screening, see What client checks are available in Engage?

How to enable Ongoing Monitoring manually

If a client has not yet completed a Watchlist Screening check, you can enable Ongoing Monitoring directly from their contact record. This runs a standalone Watchlist Screening check, which is charged.

  1. Navigate to Contacts and open the client's individual contact record. [Screenshot needed]

  2. Select Edit next to the Monitoring status.

  3. Toggle on the Ongoing Monitoring button.

  4. Confirm to run the standalone Watchlist Screening check.

What happens next

  • A Watchlist Screening check runs as part of the enable process. Ongoing Monitoring activates once the check is complete.

  • The client appears in your Monitoring dashboard.

  • If anything is flagged in the first check, you will receive an alert to review.

  • Daily checks then continue automatically from that point.

Important information

  • Ongoing Monitoring enables automatically after a client's first Watchlist Screening check as part of a CDD workflow — you do not need to enable it manually in that case.

  • Enabling Ongoing Monitoring manually runs a standalone Watchlist Screening check, which is charged.

  • If you later turn off Ongoing Monitoring and re-enable it, a new Watchlist Screening check will run and this is also charged.

  • You can enable Ongoing Monitoring for multiple clients at once using a bulk CSV upload — see How to bulk upload individual contacts for Ongoing Monitoring.

  • You can turn off Ongoing Monitoring for a client at any time — see How to turn off Ongoing Monitoring.
