Overview

This guide explains how to turn off Ongoing Monitoring for an existing business contact in Legl. You may need to do this if a client relationship has ended or monitoring is no longer required. Ongoing Monitoring can be disabled for company information monitoring, sanctions monitoring, or both.

Before you start

Before disabling monitoring, make sure you have:

  • Access to the Engage for Business

  • The name of the business contact you want to update

How to turn off Ongoing Monitoring for a business contact

  1. Go to Engage → Businesses or to Contacts

  2. Search for and select the business contact you want to update.

  3. Click into the Monitoring tab on the business contact's profile.

  4. You will see two toggles:

    1. Company Information monitoring

    2. Sanctions monitoring.

  5. Click the relevant toggle to turn off the type of monitoring you no longer require.

ℹ️ Important

You can turn off company information monitoring, sanctions monitoring, or both independently. Disabling one does not automatically disable the other.

What happens next

Once monitoring is turned off:

  • Legl will stop checking for updates for the disabled monitoring type

  • No new monitoring alerts will be generated for that contact

  • Any existing alerts that have already been raised will remain in the Monitoring dashboard for review

Important information

  • Turning off monitoring does not delete or remove any previously generated reports or alerts

  • If you want to re-enable monitoring in future, you can turn the toggle back on, a new company or sanctions report will be created at that point to capture any changes since monitoring was paused

ℹ️ Additional guidance

If you need to turn off monitoring for multiple clients at once, see the below guide:
