Overview

If your identity verification did not complete successfully, it means one or more checks could not be confirmed. This article explains, at a high level, why this can happen and what to expect next.

ℹ️ Important

An unsuccessful verification does not mean you have done anything wrong, and your application has not been rejected. It simply means your law firm needs to review the information before proceeding.

What this means

An unsuccessful identity verification means that:

  • Some information could not be fully verified automatically, or

  • Your law firm needs to review the information before proceeding

Your law firm is responsible for reviewing and deciding the next steps.

Common reasons identity verification may fail

Identity verification can fail for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Information entered does not fully match official records

  • Uploaded documents were unclear, expired, or could not be verified

  • Additional checks are required as part of legal or regulatory obligations

  • Automated checks could not confirm certain details and require manual review

These outcomes are common and often resolved quickly once reviewed.

What you need to do

In most cases, you do not need to take any action immediately.

You should:

  • Wait to hear from your law firm

  • Follow any instructions they provide if additional information is needed

If further steps are required, your law firm will contact you directly.

What happens next

After your details are submitted:

  • Your law firm reviews the verification outcome

  • They decide whether additional information is required

  • They will contact you if they need anything further to continue with your matter

Legl does not make verification decisions and cannot progress the application without your law firm's review.

When to contact your law firm or Legl

  • Contact your law firm if you have questions about your verification result or your application

  • Contact Legl Support only if you are experiencing technical issues completing the verification process

For all questions about decisions or next steps, your law firm is the correct point of contact.

Important information

  • Legl cannot see or share the outcome of your verification checks

  • Only your law firm can explain why verification did not complete successfully

  • Legl cannot override verification outcomes or provide case-specific details
