Overview

Identity verification is completed as part of an Engage request in Legl. You complete the Engage request yourself first, after which your information is submitted for automated checks and review by your law firm.

Typical timeframe

  • Engage request completion (your part):

    • Usually takes 5–20 minutes

    • The time depends on the number of steps required for your matter, which are set by your law firm

What happens after you submit your information

Once you complete and submit your Engage request:

  • Your information is submitted for automated checks

  • The results are made available to your law firm for review

  • No further action is required from you unless you are contacted by your law firm

How you will know you have completed the Engage request

You will know you have completed your part when:

  • You see an on-screen confirmation confirming your information has been submitted

You will not receive updates about the outcome of the checks. Your Law Firm will contact you directly if they need any additional information.

What happens next

After submission:

  • Your law firm reviews the information provided

  • Your law firm will contact you directly if additional information is needed or to continue with your matter

Important information

  • Completing the Engage request does not mean your matter is finished

  • Legl does not provide updates or decisions on behalf of law firms

  • Only your law firm can advise on next steps or request further information
