Overview

Legl Pay is Legl’s integrated payment solution that allows law firms to request, collect, and manage payments from clients securely. It supports multiple payment methods, automates reminders, and provides real-time visibility over incoming funds.

It is typically used by finance teams, operations teams, and fee earners who need a simple and compliant way to manage client payments.

What you can use Legl Pay for

You can use Legl Pay to:

  • Send secure payment requests to clients by email

  • Accept payments via card payments

  • Embed payment links into invoices or your website

  • Set up and manage Payment Plans with automated instalments

  • Automate payment reminders to reduce manual follow-ups

  • Track payment statuses in real time

  • Access billing and usage insights for reconciliation and reporting

How Legl Pay works

Legl Pay enables firms to generate secure payment requests directly within the Legl platform. Clients receive a branded payment link where they can choose their payment method and complete the transaction securely.

Once a payment is made:

  • The payment status updates automatically in the Legl dashboard

  • Confirmation emails are sent

  • Payment data becomes available for reporting and reconciliation

Automated reminders can be configured to follow up on outstanding payments, reducing the need for manual credit control.

Payment Plans can also be scheduled, with instalments debited automatically on agreed dates.

Where to find Legl Pay in Legl

You can access Legl Pay from the main Legl dashboard.

Navigation typically includes:

  • Pay – to create and manage payment requests

  • Insights → Pay – to view payment reporting and billing data

Permissions and access

Access to Legl Pay depends on your user role.

  • Admin users can manage settings, reporting, and billing data

  • Other users may be able to create and manage payment requests depending on their firm’s configuration

If you are unsure about your access level, contact your firm’s Legl Admin.

Important information
