Overview

When your law firm sends you documents through Legl, you can review and sign them fully online. No printing, scanning, or posting is required.

How this works

When your law firm shares a document with you, you will receive an email containing a secure link to your request. Clicking the link opens the document directly in your browser.

You can return to this link and review the document as many times as you need before taking any action. The link remains active and accessible until you have completed the required step.

Once your law firm has set up the request correctly, you can sign documents digitally from any device without downloading any additional software or applications.

What triggers this

Your law firm sends you a document through one of two steps in your request:

  • A document shared for review or acknowledgement

  • A document that requires your electronic signature

Your law firm decides which step applies based on the type of document and what action is needed from you.

What you will see

  • You will receive an email from your law firm with a link to your request

  • Clicking the link opens the document for you to read

  • You will be prompted to confirm you have reviewed the document, or to sign it electronically, depending on what your law firm has set up

  • Once you have completed the step, Legl will automatically send you a copy of the signed or acknowledged document by email for your records

Important information

  • You do not need to download, print, or post any documents. The entire process is completed online.

  • Your secure link remains accessible until you have completed the required action. You can return to it as many times as you need before completing.

  • If you are unsure whether you need to sign a document in a specific way, contact your law firm directly. Legl Support cannot advise on the requirements of your specific legal matter.
