Customisable Forms let you collect structured information from clients as part of any Engage workflow. You build forms in the dedicated form builder, assign them to one or more workflows, and clients complete them via a firm-branded link on any device.
What you can use customisable forms for
Collecting new client intake information alongside CDD
Running enhanced due diligence questionnaires for high-risk matters
Gathering source of wealth information for high-value transactions
Capturing client consent and policy acknowledgements
Collecting matter-specific information before work begins
Running client feedback surveys at matter close
How customisable forms work
Forms are created as standalone templates in the Custom Forms builder. Each form has a title and can include questions, sections, helper text, and document requests. Once created and published, a form can be added to one or more workflows.
When a client receives an Engage request containing a custom form step, they complete the form via a firm-branded link. Their responses are captured in their record and combined into a PDF.
The form builder includes the following capabilities:
Sections — group related questions together, particularly useful for long forms
Conditional questions — questions that only appear based on a client's answer to a previous question
Conditional document requests — file upload prompts that only appear based on a client's answer
Optional document requests — file uploads that are offered but not required
Helper text and text items — formatted text blocks to provide context or instructions within a form
Placeholder text — prompts that appear inside empty fields to guide clients on what to enter
Where to find customisable forms in Legl
Navigate to Engage > Custom Forms to access the form builder and manage all your forms.
You can also add a customisable form step to an existing workflow from Engage > Workflows > Add step > Customisable form.
Permissions and access
Administrator permissions are required to create, edit, and publish customisable forms.
Important information
Forms can be assigned to multiple workflows. Any changes made to a form apply to every workflow it is assigned to.
Editing a form that is already in use will update it across all workflows where it appears.
Forms created before the V2 update are compatible with the new form builder.
