Overview
When your law firm shares a document with you through Legl, you download it using a secure, single-use link. This keeps your document protected by making sure only you can open it. This article explains how to download your document and what to do if your link no longer works.
Before you start
You need access to the email address your law firm sent the request to. The secure link is only sent to that address.
How to download your document
Open the email from your law firm and select the button to download your document.
On the Confirm your email to continue page, enter the email address the request was sent to.
Select Email me a download link.
Check your inbox for a new email containing your secure download link. If you cannot see it, check your spam or junk folder.
Open the email and select the link to download your document.
What to do if your link does not work
Download links can be used once only, and expire 10 minutes after they are sent.
If you see the message This link is no longer valid, the link has either already been used or has timed out. Select Request a new link to receive a fresh one, then follow the steps above again.
Important information
The secure link works once only and expires 10 minutes after it is sent.
You must enter the exact email address your law firm sent the request to. A download link is only sent if the email address matches.
If the email address does not match, no link is sent, even though the page still tells you to check your email.
You can request a new link at any time if yours has expired or has already been used.
If you are still unable to download your document, contact the law firm that sent you the request.
