This guide explains how to make a payment through Legl using one of the available payment methods provided by your law firm. The steps vary slightly depending on how you access the payment.
How to make a payment through Legl
Follow the steps below based on how your law firm asks you to make your payment.
ℹ️ Important
The payment methods that are accepted are determined by your Law firm. If you are unsure on what is accepted, please reach out to them directly.
Make a payment from a payment request email
Open the payment request email sent to you by your law firm.
Select the link in the email to open the secure Legl payment page.
Review the payment details shown on screen.
If attachments are included, view them in the left-hand side panel of the payment page.
Review and agree to the terms and conditions, then select Agree & continue.
Choose your payment method, if more than one option is available.
Note: Available payment methods are set by your law firm.Enter your payment details.
Select Pay to complete your payment.
Make a payment using a checkout link
Open the checkout link provided by your law firm.
Enter your personal details
If prompted, enter the Client Reference or Matter Reference
A hint may be shown to help you identify the correct reference.
Enter the amount
Review and agree to the terms and conditions, then select Agree & continue.
Choose your payment method, if more than one option is available.
Enter your payment details.
Select Pay to complete your payment.
Make a payment on your law firm’s website (embedded checkout)
Navigate to the payment page on your law firm’s website.
Enter your personal details
If prompted, enter the Client Reference or Matter Reference
A hint may be shown to help you identify the correct reference.
Enter the amount
Review and agree to the terms and conditions, then select Agree & continue.
Choose your payment method, if more than one option is available.
Enter your payment details.
Select Pay to complete your payment.
What happens next
After you select Pay:
Your payment is submitted securely.
You will see an on-screen confirmation once the payment is completed.
You will receive an email receipt confirming your payment.

Payment methods and payment options are set by your law firm.
When using a checkout link or embedded checkout, you may need to enter a Client Reference or Matter Reference to proceed.
If you are unsure which reference to use, contact your law firm directly for guidance.
Legl cannot change payment details or references on behalf of your law firm.
