How to use the Legl and Proclaim integration

Overview

The Legl and Proclaim integration lets you create and send payment requests to clients directly from Proclaim, and reconcile incoming payments against your case management workflow.

This article outlines the steps for fee earners using the integration. For detailed questions about how your firm has set up the integration, speak to your Legl administrator.


Before you start

  • Your firm must have the Legl and Proclaim integration set up and active

  • You need access to the relevant client or case in Proclaim


How to create and send a payment request

  1. Log in to Proclaim and navigate to the client or case you want to send a payment request for.

  2. Open the viewing pane side bar, scroll to the bottom, and select Legl: Create payment.

  3. Enter all the payment details relevant to this client's payment request (payment amount, reference numbers).

  4. Select how you want to send the link to your client (email or SMS).

  5. Select Create payment and send to your client through Proclaim.


How to reconcile payments

  1. You will be notified in Proclaim when a new payment has been made. Review all payments made via Legl, including the client name and payment reference, under your task list.

  2. Select the payment and then click Actions. From here, you can process the payment as per your existing reconciliation process.
