Overview
Setting up the NetDocuments integration allows documents generated in Legl to be saved directly into NetDocuments. The setup is completed with support from Legl and requires some basic configuration in NetDocuments.
This process is usually completed by a law firm admin or IT team member.
Before you start
Before setting up the integration, make sure you have:
Admin access in Legl
Access to your firm’s NetDocuments Admin console
The ID of the NetDocuments cabinet where Legl documents should be stored
Step 1: NetDocuments set up
Complete the following steps in NetDocuments before connecting it to Legl:
Identify the NetDocuments cabinet
Decide which NetDocuments cabinet should be used to store documents generated in Legl and note the cabinet ID.Create a ‘Legl’ folder in workspaces
Contact Legl Support
Email [email protected] and provide your NetDocuments cabinet ID so the integration can be enabled for your firm.
ℹ️ Important
The integration will not be successfully set up until the Legl Support team have added your cabinet ID to your Legl account.
2. Connect to Legl
Once Legl Support confirms that the integration has been enabled:
Open Integrations in Legl
Log in to Legl and go to the Integrations area.Connect to NetDocuments
Select NetDocuments and complete the connection.
🚨 Important
This step must be actioned by every individual user who would like to use the NetDocuments integration.
What happens next
After setup is complete:
Users can set a NetDocuments workspace when working on Engage requests or company records
Documents generated in Legl can be saved directly into the selected NetDocuments workspace
Files are stored in the Legl folder within that workspace
Important information
Important:
The NetDocuments integration must be enabled by Legl Support before it can be connected in Legl.
Each individual user must 'Connect' the integration from their Legl account.
Documents are only saved to NetDocuments once a workspace has been set.
The integration does not change your firm’s existing NetDocuments permissions or access controls.
