Any client that your firm has already interacted with through Legl will be available as a contact in your dashboard. All contacts have a unique contact profile, which contains their contact details as well as information on their previous activity.

When you create a new Engage or Pay request, you will be able to check if your client is already a contact with your firm. If they are, you can easily pre-fill their contact details and save manually entering their information each time.

How to select a contact when creating a new request?

To create a new Engage or Pay request, simply click Send Engage request or Send Pay request and start filling in your client's details as normal.

Once you have entered your client's email address and/or name, you will be able to check if your client is already a contact with your firm. If their details match an existing contact, you will see their contact information appear below.

If your client is already a contact, this means that your firm has previously engaged with that client. You can check their details, and see if any CDD/AML reports or payments have already been completed, by clicking view this contact.

If you're happy that the contact suggested is your client, click use this contact to automatically fill your client's contact details. This will automatically complete their name(s) and any client reference details for the request. Once done, you can continue to the next step and select the workflow to send to your client as normal.

Please note: If for any reason the contact suggested is not a match for your client, simply enter their remaining details as normal and you will be able to continue on to the next step.

What to do if your client isn't already a contact?

If you type your client's email address or name and there is no matching contact, this means that your firm has never interacted with that client before through Legl. If this is the case, you can continue to complete the engage or pay request as normal.

Once you have successfully created the request for your client, they will be added as a contact in your dashboard. You can view their contact profile by navigating to Contacts and typing their email address into the search bar. For more information on finding existing contacts, click here.
