Legl's high-risk country list

The countries Legl treats as high risk, based on the FATF black and grey lists, and where Legl uses this list.

Written by Ula Moyse-White

Overview

Legl uses a set list of high-risk countries. This article explains where Legl uses the list and which countries are on it, so you know why a client in one of these countries is flagged.

ℹ️ Important

Legl's high-risk country list is based on the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) black and grey lists.

For the latest FATF lists, see High-risk and other monitored jurisdictions ↗.

Where Legl uses this list

Legl checks a client's country against this list in the following places.

Legl Assist in Risk Assessments

Legl Assist can answer Is the client resident in a high-risk jurisdiction? in a Risk Assessment. It checks the country on the client record against this list.

Risk rules

The Client from a high-risk third country rule fires when a client's country is on this list and is not your firm's own country. Your firm can use it to flag the result for your team to review.

Compliance overview

The Compliance overview shows clients based in a country on this list. When you export a CSV of flagged high-risk contacts, the Is high-risk third country column shows whether each contact is in one of these countries.

Email notifications

Admins can add email addresses under High-risk country notification recipients in Engage settings. Those recipients get an email when a contact in a country on this list is detected.

Important information

  • FATF updates its black and grey lists after each plenary meeting, usually in February, June and October.

  • A client in a high-risk country is not a decision on its own. Review each result in line with your firm's own risk policy.

  • If you have a question about a country on this list, contact our Support team.
