Overview
Admins can change who can see a contact's Engage workflows at any time. You can make a contact firm-wide, or restrict it to named users, departments, or both. Every change is recorded in the contact's history. When Ethical walls are first turned on, existing contacts are Firm-wide until an Admin changes them.
Video tutorial
Watch a short walkthrough of changing access for an existing contact.
Before you start
You must be an Admin. Other users cannot change who has access to a contact.
Ethical walls must be turned on for your firm. To turn them on, contact our Support team.
How to change who can access a contact
Select Contacts in the left-hand navigation and open the contact.
At the top of the contact page, under the contact's name, find Visibility and select Edit.
Choose Firm-wide or Restricted.
If you chose Restricted, add or remove users in Users and departments in Departments.
Select Save.

How to see the history of changes
On the contact page, hover over the Visibility line and select History.
The View history panel opens on the right. Contact access shows who has access now, and the Activity timeline lists each change: what changed, who made the change and when.
What happens next
Users you add can see the contact's Engage workflows.
Users you remove can no longer see them. They still see the contact in the contact list and its contact details.
The change is added to the contact's history.
Important information
Admins can always see every contact and every Engage workflow, whatever the setting.
If you restrict a contact, check that the reviewer of any open Engage request still has access. You will see a warning before you remove a reviewer's access from a contact that has open Engage workflows.
Before you deactivate a user, check whether they are the only non-Admin user with access to any contacts. See How to deactivate or remove a user from Legl.
Ethical walls are not available for firms that use the Consultancy Model.
