ℹ️ Phase 2 of 4 — Module setup / Integrations
You are setting up an integration. If your firm is not using an integration, skip this article and move to Phase 3. This article covers how to connect Legl to your practice management system before go-live.
Connecting Legl to your practice management system means your team does not have to switch between platforms to manage client data, payments, and compliance. The integration is set up in Legl's Integrations section, and each connection has its own short setup process. It takes most firms less than an hour to complete.
Once the integration is live, Legl and your practice management system share data automatically, so your team can focus on the work rather than the admin.
What integrations are available
Legl currently offers native integrations with the following practice management systems:
ActionStep — connect KYC, KYB, Risk Assessments, disbursements, and payment reconciliation
Clio — connect client and matter data for seamless Engage workflows
NetDocuments — send documents from Legl directly to your NetDocuments matter files
If your firm uses a different practice management system, ask your Launch Manager whether an integration is available or whether an API-based connection is possible.
Before you start
You need admin permissions in Legl to configure integrations.
You will also need admin or system access to your practice management system to authorise the connection. Involve your IT contact or practice management system administrator before starting.
Each integration has its own setup process and may require additional configuration within your practice management system. Read the specific guide for your system before you begin.

Step-by-step guide
Step-by-step guide
In Legl, go to Integrations in the left-hand navigation. This is a top-level item in the menu.
Find your practice management system and select Set up or Connect.
Follow the setup guide for your specific integration. Each guide covers the configuration steps in your practice management system and in Legl. Links to the individual setup guides are in the Further guidance section below.
Once connected, run a quick test to confirm data is flowing as expected. Your Launch Manager can help with this step.
Important information
Integration setup requires admin access to both Legl and your practice management system. Make sure your IT contact is available before you start.
Each integration has a different scope. Not all practice management systems support all Legl features. Review the specific guide to understand what data flows between the two systems.
API keys and webhook configuration are available in the Integrations section for firms building custom connections. This is a technical process — involve your development team or IT contact.
If your integration was set up before February 2026, your setup process may differ from the current in-platform flow. Contact our Support team if you are unsure about your current integration status.
Before you move on
Your integration is connected and confirmed in the Integrations section.
You have run a test to confirm data is flowing correctly between Legl and your practice management system.
Your IT contact or practice management system administrator is aware of the connection.
