Use this article to archive a risk assessment template that is no longer in use, and to restore it if needed. Both actions are available from the template edit screen and can only be completed by admins.
Before you start
You must have admin access in Legl to archive or restore a risk assessment template.
How to archive a risk assessment template
Go to Risk Assessments in the left-hand navigation.
Select Templates.
Click edit on the template you want to archive.
Select the option to archive the template from the template edit screen.
Review the warning message and confirm the action.
What happens next
Once a template is archived, it will no longer be available to select when starting a new risk assessment. Any risk assessments already in progress using the archived template can still be completed. If a user tries to update an in-progress risk assessment built on an archived template, they will see a warning that they are working from an outdated template before they can proceed.
How to restore an archived risk assessment template
Go to Risk Assessments in the left-hand navigation.
Select Templates.
Filter by Status > Archived.
Click Restore.
What happens next
Once restored, the template becomes active again and can be used to start new risk assessments.
Important information
Archiving a template does not delete any completed risk assessments that were built using it. Historical records are preserved.
Archiving does not interrupt risk assessments that are already in progress. Those can still be completed.
Users editing an in-progress risk assessment based on an archived template will see a warning before proceeding.
A template cannot be restored if another active template with the same name already exists. Rename the conflicting template first, then restore.
Completed risk assessments are not affected by archiving or restoring a template.
