Launching Legl — Internal Communication Templates

Ready-to-use templates for introducing Legl to your team: a pre-launch memo and email templates for different rollout scenarios.

These templates help your team understand who Legl is, why the firm is implementing it, what is coming next, and how it will affect their day-to-day work. Each template can be copied, edited, and shared internally.


When to use these templates

  • Before or during your internal Legl launch

  • When communicating changes to onboarding, compliance, or payments

  • When rolling out Legl to a new team or department

  • To ensure consistent messaging across the firm


How to use these templates

Choose the template that best matches the tools your firm is launching. Copy the text, replace the placeholder content in square brackets, and adapt the wording to your firm's tone before sending.


Template 1: Pre-launch internal memo

Use this memo to communicate the upcoming change to everyone at the firm before Legl goes live.

Hello everyone,

You will be invited to attend a training session next week on a new system we will be implementing with our partner Legl. This system will streamline our file opening process by automating the client due diligence needed for new clients and allowing them to complete ID verification steps online.

Legl is used by many national law firms to give clients the best possible customer experience from the moment they start working with our firm. This is an opportunity to remove manual effort during the onboarding of a new client and the due diligence required as part of this, while also enabling us to onboard clients remotely.

We can mirror our existing onboarding and client due diligence process with customised workflows set up for each department, and include all relevant documents and payments within the initial interaction so clients can instruct us quickly with less manual back-and-forth.

The payment tools enable our clients to pay us via debit or credit card as an extra payment option, with a view to decreasing the time spent chasing clients and offering a quicker way to pay than bank transfer or calling us.

You will receive full training on how to use the system, and we will circulate training materials ahead of the launch so everyone is confident with the updated process.

Why Legl?
Legl allows us to shift time-consuming admin tasks—like collecting ID documents, verifying clients, and handling payment links—to an easy-to-use online experience for clients. This helps us work faster, improve cash flow, and remain compliant.

What's next?
If you haven't yet watched the introductory Legl training, please request a copy of the video. You should have also received an email to set up your Legl account. If not, let me know so we can sort it out promptly.

How will this affect you?
You'll now use Legl as the main platform for onboarding and payments. For most clients, everything will happen online. If a client chooses to come into the office, remember to log any checks or payments into Legl, just as we covered in training.

Most of you have attended the Legl training. If not, please request the recording. Make sure you've activated your Legl account—let me know if you haven't received your setup email.

How will this affect you?
Going forward, Legl will be the main platform for sending payment requests. In-office payments must still be logged in Legl, per the training, to ensure accurate records.

You should have completed Legl training. If not, ask for the recording. Also check that you have activated your Legl account; if you did not receive the setup email, let me know.

How will this affect you?
You'll now use Legl to manage client onboarding. Clients will complete most steps online. For clients who prefer in-person processes, remember to log all details into Legl as trained.
