Learn how to close a risk assessment in Legl to remove it from the active dashboard and stop reassessment reminders.

Overview

Closing a risk assessment marks it as no longer active. It is removed from the active view on the Risk Assessments dashboard and stops reassessment reminders. This is useful when a risk assessment is no longer needed, for example when you are no longer acting for a client. You can reopen a closed risk assessment later if needed.

Before you start

  • You have access to the Risk Assessments area in Legl

  • A risk assessment already exists for the client or matter

How to close a risk assessment

  1. Go to Risk Assessments in Legl.

  2. Select Assessments.

  3. Click the risk assessment you want to close to open it.

  4. Select Close assessment in the top right.

  5. Choose a reason for closing: No longer instructing, Matter closed, Client ceased trading, Duplicate assessment, or Other.

  6. Select Close assessment to confirm.

What happens next

  • The risk assessment shows a Closed status on the dashboard.

  • It is removed from the active dashboard view.

  • Reassessment reminders for that assessment stop.

  • You can reopen a closed risk assessment later if it is needed again.

Important information

  • Closing a risk assessment does not delete it. The assessment and its history are retained, and it can be reopened at any time.

  • You must select a reason for closing (No longer instructing, Matter closed, Client ceased trading, Duplicate assessment, or Other).

  • You can close a risk assessment even if it does not have a reassessment date set.

  • Closing is used to tidy the dashboard and stop reminders, not to record a compliance outcome.
