Overview
Closing a risk assessment marks it as no longer active. It is removed from the active view on the Risk Assessments dashboard and stops reassessment reminders. This is useful when a risk assessment is no longer needed, for example when you are no longer acting for a client. You can reopen a closed risk assessment later if needed.
Before you start
You have access to the Risk Assessments area in Legl
A risk assessment already exists for the client or matter
How to close a risk assessment
Go to Risk Assessments in Legl.
Select Assessments.
Click the risk assessment you want to close to open it.
Select Close assessment in the top right.
Choose a reason for closing: No longer instructing, Matter closed, Client ceased trading, Duplicate assessment, or Other.
Select Close assessment to confirm.
What happens next
The risk assessment shows a Closed status on the dashboard.
It is removed from the active dashboard view.
Reassessment reminders for that assessment stop.
You can reopen a closed risk assessment later if it is needed again.
Important information
Closing a risk assessment does not delete it. The assessment and its history are retained, and it can be reopened at any time.
You must select a reason for closing (No longer instructing, Matter closed, Client ceased trading, Duplicate assessment, or Other).
You can close a risk assessment even if it does not have a reassessment date set.
Closing is used to tidy the dashboard and stop reminders, not to record a compliance outcome.
