How to confirm unconfirmed Watchlist Screening results

Confirm unconfirmed PEP, sanctions, and adverse media results on your Compliance Dashboard to keep your compliance records accurate.

Written by Ula Moyse-White

Overview

If a contact appears on your Compliance Dashboard as an unconfirmed PEP, sanctions, or adverse media result, you can edit and re-confirm their Watchlist Screening results directly from the contact record.

This is useful where a screening result shows as unconfirmed even though it has already been reviewed, for example because the review was completed before the confirm or decline workflow was introduced. Confirming the result removes the contact from the unconfirmed section of your Compliance Dashboard.

Before you start

  • You need admin or MLRO permissions to confirm Watchlist Screening results. Standard users do not have access to this functionality.

How to confirm unconfirmed Watchlist Screening results

  1. Go to Contacts and open the record for the relevant contact.

  2. You will see the unconfirmed watchlist result on the contact record.

  3. Click View.

  4. Click Unlock watchlist amendments. This reopens the result so you can update each decision.

  5. Review each match and mark the correct status for each result: Match or Not a match.

  6. Optionally, add a comment for your audit trail. This is recorded against the result.

  7. Once completed, click Confirm to save your decisions.

  8. Select Save to save your changes, or Save and regenerate PDF to create an updated version of the check report with your comment included.

What happens next

Once you confirm the results, the contact is removed from the unconfirmed section of your Compliance Dashboard.

If you need to update the decision again, click Unlock on the contact record and repeat the process.

Important information

  • Only admins and MLROs can confirm unconfirmed Watchlist Screening results. Standard users do not have access to the Unlock button.

  • This applies to all watchlist result types: PEPs, sanctions, adverse media, and other result categories.

  • Adding a comment is optional, but we recommend doing so to maintain a clear audit trail of why a decision was made or changed.

  • Once confirmed, the contact is removed from the unconfirmed section of the Compliance Dashboard immediately.

  • You can unlock and re-confirm a result as many times as needed if a decision changes.
