Understanding the Pay dashboard

Access payment details, filter and search transactions, and export data from the Pay dashboard in Legl.

Written by Ula Moyse-White

Overview

The Pay dashboard gives your firm a real-time view of all payment activity in Legl. From here, you can review individual payment details, filter and search transactions, and export data for reconciliation or reporting.

Where you will see this

Go to Pay from the main navigation menu. The dashboard lists all payments processed through Legl.

What this means

The dashboard shows all payments with their current status. You can:

  • Use the status filters (Created, Sent, Paid, Refunded, Transferred) to narrow your view

  • Use the search bar to find a specific payment by client name, email address, reference, or creator

  • Click on an individual payment card to open the full payment details

Within each payment, you can view:

  • Cardholder Name

  • Cardholder Address (billing address)

  • Card Type (consumer or business/corporate card)

  • Payment history (including reminders and completion details)

  • Invoice and matter references (if included)

You can also view cardholder details from the email receipt sent after a successful payment.

To export payment data:

  1. Go to Pay.

  2. Apply any filters or search criteria if required.

  3. Click the cloud download icon on the right-hand side of the search bar.

  4. Select your preferred format (Excel or CSV).

The exported file reflects the filtered view currently shown on your dashboard. You can also export transfer-level data from the Transfers tab, including transfer references and grouped payment breakdowns to support reconciliation.

What happens next

  • Dashboard data updates in real time as payments are made, refunded, or transferred.

  • Exported files download immediately in your selected format.

  • Transfers to your firm's bank account occur at 9am and 4pm (Monday to Friday). Use the Transfers tab to view grouped payment breakdowns.

Important information

  • Payment data shown in the dashboard is real-time and reflects the current status of each transaction.

  • Transfers may group multiple client payments into a single bank transaction. Use the Transfers tab to view a breakdown of individual payments within each transfer.

  • Cardholder details are visible for transparency and reconciliation purposes. Card details themselves are not stored on the platform.
