Overview

This guide explains how to update the bank account where your Legl Pay payouts are sent. You may need to do this if your firm changes bank accounts or wants to add an additional payout account. It also covers choosing which accounts are used by default.

Adding a bank account is a two-step process: first add the account in Legl, then verify it in Adyen.

Before you start

  • You must be a Legl Admin

  • Have the new bank account details to hand

How to add or update bank accounts in Adyen

Add the bank account in Legl

  1. Log in to the Legl Dashboard.

  2. Select Settings in the left-hand menu.

  3. Select Pay from the Settings menu.

  4. Go to the Payout bank account section. Accounts where Pay by Bank is enabled show a Pay by Bank pill next to the account name.

  5. Select + Add bank account in the top right.

  6. Complete the bank account details and save.

Verify the account in Adyen

  1. Select Correct Onboarding Details in the top right. This opens the Adyen onboarding page.

  2. In the section for payout bank accounts, select + Add extra bank account.

  3. Enter the new bank account details.

  4. Review the information and submit the update in Adyen.

Set your default bank accounts

Where your firm has more than one account, choose which is used in each scenario under Default bank accounts:

  • Default payment portal account — used for the payment portal and embedded payments

  • Default pay request account — pre-selected when creating pay requests or workflows

Your default account shows a Default label in the accounts table. Each account also shows its status, the date it was added, and its payment URLs.

What happens next

Once submitted, your updated bank account details will be saved in Adyen for future payouts.

Important information

  • Adding a bank account requires both steps to be completed: the Legl record and the Adyen verification. The account will not be active for payouts until both are done

  • Bank account changes are made directly in Adyen. Legl cannot manually edit your payout account details on your behalf

  • Payouts will continue to be sent to the existing bank account until the new details are successfully submitted and confirmed

  • You can change your default accounts yourself at any time in Settings > Pay
