Overview

Before you can send a Source of Funds request, you need to add it as a step in a workflow. This article explains how to add the step, choose the bank statement period and decide whether clients must upload evidence for each source.

Before you start

  • You need permission to create or edit workflows in Legl. If you do not have access, speak to an Admin at your firm.

  • Decide how many months of bank statements you need from clients. The options are 3, 6, 12 or 24 months.

How to add Conveyancing Source of Funds to a workflow

  1. Go to Workflows in Legl.

  2. Select an existing workflow to edit, or select Create workflow to start a new one.

  3. Select the Edit workflow tab.

  4. In the workflow builder, select Add step.

  5. Select Source of Funds from the list of steps.

  6. Under Source of funds type, select Conveyancing.

  7. If you want clients to upload evidence for every source they add, tick Make document evidence uploads mandatory for each source submitted. This is turned off by default.

  8. Under Bank statement period, select how many months of statements the client must provide. The default is 12 months.

  9. Click Add step.

  10. Click Save.

What happens next

When you send an Engage request using this workflow, your client is asked to complete the Source of Funds step. You can enter a transaction amount, and lock it, when you send the request.

Important information

  • The bank statement period applies to every client sent this workflow. If different matters need different periods, create a separate workflow for each.

  • 24 months is only available where the client's bank supports it.

  • Clients can choose from Savings, Property sale, Mortgage, Gift, Investments, stocks & shares or ISA, Inheritance, Loan and Other. These are set by Legl and cannot be changed per workflow.

  • Changes to the step settings apply to new requests only, not requests already sent.
