How to upload existing clients while starting ongoing monitoring

How does a bulk upload work?

Bulk Upload allows you to import your existing business clients to the Legl platform en masse without any complex data migration. Once imported, Legl will complete an initial business sanctions screening and enrol the business entity into ongoing monitoring.

If the business already exists within your Legl contacts, monitoring will be started for that business entity, if this is the first time searching the business, a new business entity will be created.

Please communicate to the customer experience team who you would like to set as the reviewer for all the business sanctions monitoring updates and screenings. One person will be set as the reviewer for all, but you will be able to change the reviewer manually later in the Legl platform.

What information do I need to provide for a business bulk upload?

Please use the CSV template provided.

Please make sure you provide the company name, registration number and country ISO code. Client reference, company type and address are optional, but the more information you provide, the more likely we will be able to find a match.

We need the data in a standardised format so it can be interpreted by the bulk upload tool for an initial check to be run. If the data isn’t in the right format, the file will be rejected. In the csv template provided, please ensure that:

  • The headings are in the exact format to ensure the file can be read

  • Country codes must be 2 letters and valid according to the ISO Alpha-2 Standard

  • Company name, Company Registration Number and Country ISO are mandatory fields and must be filled

  • Optional fields should be left blank if you have no data

Once your CSV file is ready, please send it to our customer support team and they will proceed to upload the file. This process can vary in time, from a few minutes to hours, depending on the size of the file and platform activity. Once completed our team members will notify you, and you will be able to review the uploaded business contacts in Legl.

What are my options if you cannot find a match for the client?

If we cannot find a match for the company registration number provided via Creditsafe, a member of our team will be in touch. In this instance, we can look at how to help solve this issue, including double checking the information you provided is correct.

If all information is correct, you will have the option to proceed to create a business entity. A Sanctions screening will be performed on the clients, however we will not be able to run a company report.
