Overview

Once you have a workflow with a Commercial Source of Funds step configured, you can send the request to your client via Engage. A key part of this process is associating the contact with the business entity they represent, so that Legl can connect the source of funds evidence to the correct company.

Before you start

  • Your workflow must include a Commercial Source of Funds step. See How to add Commercial Source of Funds to a workflow if you have not done this yet.

  • The client contact record should exist in Legl before you send the request.

  • The business entity should exist in Legl, or be ready to be created at the point of sending.

How to send a Commercial Source of Funds request

  1. Navigate to the client contact record in Legl or Engage > Individuals

  2. Select Send Engage request.

  3. Select the workflow that includes the Commercial Source of Funds step.

  4. When prompted, associate the contact with the relevant business entity. Start typing the company name and select it from the results.

  5. Click Create Engage request.

  6. Choose how to send the request: via email or via a shareable link.

  7. Send the request.

What happens next

The client receives the request and is asked to complete the Commercial Source of Funds section. They will declare their funding sources, provide evidence, and either upload bank statements or connect their bank account.

If a source involves a third party, the client can delegate that part of the request for the third party to complete independently. Once all sources are submitted, you will be able to review the results in Legl.

Important information

  • If the business entity already exists in Legl and the contact is already linked to it, the association may be pre-populated.

  • You can send the request via a shareable link if the client does not have an email address recorded in Legl, or if you prefer to share the link through another channel.
