User Guide
Create a contact in Clio (Company or Person) or use a pre-existing contact.
For a Person
Click “More Actions” > “New Onboarding | KYC | AML Workflow”
This will automatically launch Legl and create a corresponding contact, select which workflow you wish to send, created an engage request and send it to your client.
The client will receive a firm branded workflow in which to complete the request for information. When this is completed the assigned reviewer will be notified to come into Legl to complete the review. The contact in Clio will also be updated on custom fields with the Status: Ready to Review and the Result: Clear or Consider.
Once reviewed, the contact in Clio will be updated with the Status: Reviewed, the result and the ‘KYC check history’ fields will be updated based on the checks completed with the date and any associated matters. The documents will also be automatically sync into the contact documents.
For a Company
Click “More Actions” > “New Onboarding | KYC | AML Workflow”
The integration will automatically differentiate the workflow between a company and a person. For a company it will open the Legl “New business search” and pull through the company name and location and run a search. At this point you need to select the correct company a click ‘Start’
This will begin the process of checking the company by automatically generating a company and sanctions report
The Contact in Clio will automatically updated with the: Registered company name, Legl sanction screening result, Legl sanction screening status and the Link to the Legl contact (which will bring you back into the Legl Business with the structure and ownership and other information shown above).
The integration will also automatically pull in the company report once generated and the sanctions report once reviewed.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues & Solutions
Issue | Possible Solution |
The Clio contact is not updating with the Legl results or documents. | Please check whether or not the integration is connected, either in the Integrations tab in Legl or the App integrations> My Integrations tab in Clio. |
The business is not being searched for in the correct territory. | If a territory is not specified in Clio, Legl will default to searching the UK register. You can alter this either in Clio or Legl. |
When I click more actions it is not automatically creating a contact in Legl. | Legl requires a first name, last name and email address to create a contact. Check that the contact in Clio has all of these fields. |
